Il blog Don’t Be Evil ha creato una raccolta di “cartelli di protesta” contro Google per la questione della censura in Cina.
Una protesta virtuale organizzata da persone deluse dal comportamento della società di Mountain View.

This virtual protest is brought to you by people who LOVE Google, but are disappointed in the company’s recent actions.
We are citizens, shareholders and Google users who used to believe that Google could make a difference in the world, not just go with the flow. We are concerned that by compromising its principles, Google may become an instrument of evil rather than a model of a new way to do well by doing good.
We believe that Google has already changed the world for the better, largely by adhering closely to its values even when doing so meant sacrificing short-term profits. This long-term view and value-conscious approach has served Google well, and has become its competitive advantage. Google’s recent actions are frightening, not only for China, but for Google users and shareholders worldwide.
Google has the potential to bring great benefits to the world while creating great wealth for their employees and shareholders. But Google cannot rationalize censorship and endanger user privacy in the pursuit of an ill-defined “greater good.” For Google to be trusted to organize the world’s information, Google must rise to a higher level of trust than other corporations.

personalmente penso che sia meglio avere in Cina una versione ridotta di Google che niente.
E’ vero che i contenuti della ricerca con la versione cinese di Google sono filtrati, ma le alternative erano lasciare tutto il mercato a motori di ricerca locali, anch’essi filtrati, o lasciare che Google nella versione internazionale diventasse via via sempre più irrilevante viste le difficoltà di utilizzo attraverso i firewall con funzioni di censura.
